Join The Future of Work Conversation At The Midlands Career “And Lifestyle” Expo 2026

AI & the Future of Work

AI is undoubtedly the big talking point of 2026. Every newspaper, every social media feed, every TV news bulletin is full of it. And to be fair, it has certainly become the big technology and work story of our time. Just as indeed electricity was perhaps the big story of our grandparents’ generation.

Yet for all the column inches, it’s still not easy for us to make sense of this new AI revolution. Even for those of us who have done some research and courses on the subject. Just when we think we’re getting a handle on it, some new development comes along to bamboozle us all over again. And that’s all before we begin to really figure out how it’s expected to effect our future jobs and careers. Where are job-seekers to turn? What forum is there for job-seekers to meet up with local business people and experts to help them to process all of the expected upheaval?

Saturday 21st February 2026– Mullingar Park Hotel

The timing of the 2026 Midlands Career and Lifestyle Expo in Mullingar could therefore hardly be any more welcome.

The perfect time for Midlands employers to all come together under one roof to discuss between each other, as well as directly with local job candidates whether, when and how they expect AI to be introduced at their workplaces. A perfect time for experts such as Andrew Lynch, Chief Innovation Officer at IMR to explain his perspective ahd how we need to gear up for a future in which AI is embedded in our factories of the future. A time for candidates to engage with representatives of our local Universities and training centres on valuable AI courses and resources.

The subject of AI at work is too big a topic for job-seekers to be wrestling with on their own in isolation. We would urge people to come along and draw from the expertise, ideas and inspiration of our Midlands Careers and Lifestyle Expo in a friendly, open and welcoming atmosphere.

In fact, this is perhaps the only event of it’s kind this year in the Midlands for local job-seekers with enquiring minds to come along and engage in direct conversations with local employment leaders and stakeholders on what’s ahead – click here to register to attend.

Midland Jobs, Community & Lifestyle

The Importance of “Community”

Bressie’s address to the SFA Memberhsip focused on his recommended techniques to help people in business to better look after their Mental Health. It was great to hear him urging business people, and people in general, to get back to building strong tight-knit communities. He urges us to get out of our phones and screens and to get back to talking with one another. Sentiments Midlandjobs would certainly concur with. Which is why the Expo this year is focussing not only on Jobs and Careers, but also on our Midlands Lifestyle. Local clubs and societies have therefore also been invited to exhibit at the show in 2026. A uniquely Midlands event therefore not to be missed.
