MidlandJobs.ie were deligted to support the Women in STEM event recently in Maynooth University. For a first time event we were impressed by the work done to organise the event from parking to directions and even delicious sandwiches. The new TSI building was fantastic to see and we were kept busy with visitors to our stand for the day. Many students were keen to see what options were available in the Midlands and we were happy to showcase the great companies and fantastic jobs available on our site. Students were keen to hear how quality of life could be better in the midlands with easier commuting and cheaper accomodation compared with the major urban centres.
We were joined on the day by Jungheinrich, one our customers with plenty of jobs for STEM graduates and are only a short hop away from the university. Laura Bolger Marketing Director at Jungheinrich Ireland was delighted with the event and said :“Jungheinrich was very impressed by the quality of candidates we met at the Women in Stem careers event at Maynooth University. As a company, we are always on the lookout for talented and motivated individuals to join our team from the fields of engineering and technology, and strive to bridge the gender gap in the industry. Overall, we found the event provided us with an excellent opportunity to meet and connect with potential candidates who could be a good fit for our company and thank Midland Jobs for hosting us on the day.”
From a Midlands recruitment perspective it was interesting to see how many students from midlands counties were attending Maynooth and how well connected the university is to the midlands counties on the M4 route, bus and rail line. We met undergrads from the fields of Science, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Masters Students and even a few Astro-Physicists. All very interesting, our future looks bright.
We’d like to thank Maynooth University and the Women in STEM society for inviting us and had a great time there meeting the future technical bright minds that will drive innovation and excellence.
