What Has Center Parcs Longford Forest Ever Done For Us Anyway?

So, apart from that giddy excitement in the kids each time we go there, apart from the 100’s of Jobs and Careers, and apart from that sense of new local prosperity in the immediate area around Ballymahon, Keenagh and Ardagh. Apart from their literally putting Co. Longford firmly onto the map.. what actually has Center Parcs Longford Forest ever done for the Midlands anyway??

Well there’s the Pancake House. And the Tropical Forest.

There’s the Aqua Sana. The Zipline. And the Winter Wonderland.

In fact, in my most recent visit (earlier yesterday) while in a short queue at the top of the Tropical Cyclone slide, I got chatting to a dairy farmer from Waterford. He said they’d previously also taken their kids to the Center Parcs in Paris. However, he quickly added that he actually preferred the Longford Forest experience over the Paris one. When I pressed him on why this was the case, his answer was never really going to surprise me.

He said that the noticeably relaxed friendly Irish Midlands culture and atmosphere amongst the staff in Longford comes across strong and that is literally what makes all the difference.

And while it seems like the majority of workers in Longford Forest might be from the locality, of those staff members who possibly do not hail from the area, they too have also acquired that laid-back, yet attentive style. That joie de vivre that makes you feel like you really are instantly on holiday from the moment you arrive. Which is quite an achievement. Everything there seems to run efficiently, yet without the place feeling stressy. How far we have come in such a short space of time. And the best bit;  CP’s is all of only half an hour from Mullingar – go figure 🤔
